A New Year is just a start to a new you. As thousands of people will sit down to run their mind for any improvement they can make for the upcoming year, only about 10% of people actually stick to their New Year’s resolutions.

Below are some reasons you may be breaking your New Year’s Resolution and how to do a better job in 2013.

You’re Setting Your Standards too High:

If you know the Snooze button is your best friend, then don’t set a goal to workout in the mornings at the start. Set a goal to workout right when you get home from work, before even sitting down.

Not Looking at the End Goal:

Don’t think about what you could be doing other than jumping on your treadmill, instead think about the health you will be receiving from your workouts.

You’re Too Busy:

Cut out your favorite TV show or sign off Facebook, you will be surprised what you can make time for if you try.

Accountability:

Be accountable to someone or yourself. Try grabbing a friend, neighbor, or family member to join in on your resolution. If you are going at it alone, make a tally. This will keep you on track and make you motivated to keep up your streak.

Commitment:

If you don’t want to be a marathon runner, then don’t commit to run one. Try a 5K or set a goal to power walk everyday. Find your passion and strive for that.

2013 is a new year for New Year’s Resolutions and another shot at your goals. Make yourself proud, find your passion, and stick to it.
