Usually, I wait until the last minute to roll out of bed and get ready for the day. I'm not a morning person. So, when I woke up early today, about an hour before my normal time, I decided to work out. I didn't have any laundry to do, all of my cleaning was done, and I found myself with an hour of no responsibilities. So I hopped on the elliptical to get in a nice weight-loss workout before I got ready for work.
It was quite refreshing. I'm not one to exercise after work unless I've been psyching myself up for it all day, so it was liberating to get a workout in before I even started my day. I did about fifteen minutes of a twenty-minute weight-loss program. I started to feel light headed and nauseous, so I slowed my pace, stopped and finished with some stretches. I didn't eat anything before my workout this morning, so I can probably attribute my headache and nausea to that.
I have noticed a few other things that seem to relate to my early-morning exercise. I was hungrier for lunch today than I normally am (my breakfast included a Light Yoplait Yogurt and a Kellogg’s Chocolate Drizzle Granola Bar), so next time, I’m packing a morning snack to help tide me over between breakfast and lunch.
The good thing I’ve noticed is that I’m not tired; in fact, I’m almost antsy. I have more energy than normal, and I really think it’s because I worked out this morning. Of course I’ve read that exercising gives you more energy and you’ll sleep better and all that, but I’m usually so exhausted after an evening workout; I can hardly make it to the bed.
So maybe I’ve found my perfect workout time. I’m going to give it a try again to tomorrow and maybe I’ll make myself a new habit. Wish me luck :)
