Our Favorite Marathon Gear
When it comes to marathons or any sort of long-distance running, your clothes play a mighty role. During your run, you shouldn’t ever notice them. If you do, it means you should have worn something different. You should feel comfortable and able to run freely, so you can solely focus on your performance and nothing else.
We recommend going for a test run in your outfit to make sure you won’t have any problems. And be sure to check the weather on race day, because that can quickly change your outfit plans.
Finding the right outfit is important for three reasons:
Most people chafe between their legs or under their arms. However, you can chafe in a lot of places! Long spandex shorts, long sleeves, and smooth seams will help ease the friction. Also, make sure to wear body glide!
Requires less adjusting.
It’s really inconvenient to have to constantly adjust your shirt from rolling up or your shorts from riding up while you’re running. So pick clothing articles that are fuss-free.
Helps maintain a moderate temperature.
You don’t want to be too hot or too cold during the race, so find a lightweight material that keeps your temperature right in between.
