Gyro Burgers

Michelle Alley

TOTAL TIME:45 min

If you love gyros you are going to love these burgers. We did a mixture of lamb and beef with lots of seasoning for a super flavorful burger. We also used sandwich thins to avoid having too much bread, which helps the flavors of the burger really shine through. Tzatziki is the key to this recipe and I love to load mine with it since it is a low calorie sauce with a great fresh flavor. These are in my top burgers, so be sure to give them a try this summer.

          Directions
          1. Combine all ingredients for the tzatziki sauce in a bowl and stir until combined. For best results let sit for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors blend.
          2. In a large bowl use your hands to mix together the lamb, beef, garlic powder, onion powder, dijon, salt, pepper, red wine vinegar, and Italian seasonings. Form into 3 patties.
          3. Grill for 5-8 minutes per side or until cooked through.
          4. Place each lamb patty on hamburger thin top with lettuce, onion, tomato and tzatziki sauce. I love tzatziki and did about a ¼ cup, but feel free to use less. Store remaining tzatziki in the fridge and use within a week.
