Walking is a great way to ease yourself into a higher level of fitness and health. Regular walking results in numerous benefits, including: lower blood pressure, weight management, and healthy cholesterol levels. Walking is also a low-impact exercise, so the likelihood of injury as a result is very low. This program is safe and easy to get started. Each workout starts out with a warm up at a speed of 2.5 mph (4.02 kph) for the first quarter mile. After your warm up, speeds increase to 3-4 mph (4.82-6.43 kph). The final quarter mile of each workout will return speed to 2.5 mph (4.02 kph) for a cool down.
