What your friends are saying.

Many of you have asked about the changes with Google Maps, primarily why the red line and arrow that shows your location no longer appears on your console, so we wanted to clear things up. Recently, Google stopped supporting parts of the Google Maps programming on Android 2.2. Since they made this change, we can no longer support map view from the app. However, we’re working hard on a solution that will replicate this feature and hope to release an update soon. Thank you for being patient with us as we work through these changes. We’ll be sure to keep you posted.

Yes, just login to iFit using the browser and once your workout has started there is a track live workout button.

As one of the unfortunate ones whose equipment is running Android 2.2, I was thrilled to see an update to iFit application version 2.16.6 loading onto my treadmill this morning. Unfortunately, after version 2.16.6 was up and running, I was extremely disappointed to find out that it actually has less functionality than the version it replaced. Specifically, the Map view now shows a static image of a satellite view of the selected route. One can no longer zoom in or out on the Map view, nor does it track one’s current position. In addition, the Satellite view has been removed completely. The previous iFit application version no longer highlighted the current route, nor did it show one’s current position. However, it did allow one to zoom in on the Map and Satellite views, and these two views would scroll as one progressed along the route. However, with version 2.16.6, only the Street view is functional. Therefore, this “update” renders completely obsolete all of the routes I have created on trails and remote roads that lack Street view. All of this leads me to ask the following questions. Will a true fix for Android 2.2 users be forthcoming, one that restores full functionality to the Map and Satellite views, and if so, when? And, until then, is it possible to restore the previous iFit application version on my treadmill?

Any option to have the web based version allow you to track on a sattelite view and not "just" map view. since zooming in on a satellite view is a good option when there is no street view on a part of the trail.

I am very disappointed - from someone who works in software, I was having sporadic issues with my iFit runs, and thought, "I should update" as I do not have auto update enabled as it tends to break things. The stability is better since updating; however, now the Satellite view button is gone, but is showing in the Map view... and you can no longer Zoom. Very frustrating, especially when I'm running a route without street view. I'd like to think that I could revert back to the previous software version, but then fear the stability will be back to unpredictability (maps loading, clearing the screen, and rebooting the iFit app). Please advise, as this is an annual paid for subscription and it has lost functionality that I believe I was paying for. Thank you ~ iFit customer isnce 2015.

Understand your feelings Andy. Personally, I find using an additional android tablet to be a good solution. The streetview images are far superior to those on the TdF screen with the one downside being no satellite images.

One solution would be to upgrade our consoles to support an Android OS greater than 2.2. Or if you can't upgrade our existing consoles, how about sending us new consoles that support the latest Android OS. Really, Android 2.2 is a disnosaur!

On step 3 click 'Get Specific Version' button. Type in 2.10.30.1 or other version you want. I've found 2.10.30.1 gives satellite view and zoom controls but does NOT show route or position.

So it seems to me that they should be able to provide a replacement console with the newer Android OS that works correctly, since they did that once before. My treadmill has updated to version 2.16.6 and now RockMyRun crashes every time I try to run it. The treadmill tells me there's an urgent update to install but when I select to install it, it just downloads and installs a package but remains as 2.16.6. I only bought this treadmill in January 18. This is really disappointing.

I had an old treadmill that used iFit with a bluetooth tablet. It had a lot of issues but the tracking was perfect until it died in July. Now my new Wi-Fi treadmill has this issues since day one. iFit should talk (or pay Google) to get a special support for their product.

I have a Freemotion treadmill with iFit version 2.16.1 running on Android 2.2. Seven months ago, I lost route highlighting and the current position indicator from the Map and Satellite views for all map-based workouts. Now, to add insult to injury, the Map and Satellite views are dimmed and overlaid with the phrase “For development purposes only.” In addition, the Map and Satellite views also display an alert window that says “This page <obscured text> oad Google Maps correctly.” What is causing these issues? And please don’t tell me to update to iFit version 2.16.6. In that version, one can no longer zoom in or out on the Map view, nor does it track one’s current position. In addition, the Satellite view has been removed completely. And please don’t give me the excuse that Google deprecated the Mock Location feature for all versions of Android prior to 3.0. I am an IT professional, and when one of our software vendors replaces or removes some type of critical application functionality, we develop develop and deploy our own solution in-house. Come on, iFit! Put your IT team to work on these issues immediately, and start taking better care of your loyal customers!

It is not resolved - my display still only has Map view (which is really Satellite view when I first got my TM, and you cannot ZOOM or see current location) and Street View. Map view, the original, is still Missing. I just renewed for 2 years and hope they resolve it. Ed T, some of the maps I've created have no STREET view, so it's nice to switch to the old MAP View and see the map of the roads, but you cannot anymore, it's frustrating when you pay for the subscription, especially at full price, when it isn't working anymore. That's all, hoping they resolve.

Leslie, with a tablet and iFit on the browser, with live workout you can choose between a scalable map/satellite view of your actual position or a streetview image. It's a pretty good solution to the non-working onboard app.

iFit should be very concerned. There must literally be thousands of us with this problem. Aren't "upgrades" supposed to INCREASE functionality? I feel that this is a problem that Nordic Track should also be urgently addressing. Nordic Track and iFit are designing and implementing these features in partnership. While Google may have withdrawn support for the way mapping works with older versions of the system software Google did not sell me the product. iFit and Nordic Track should be working together to restore confidence in the longevity of their products by providing a hardware/software upgrade. Customers could reasonably expect that iFit/Nordic Track would provide this upgrade at reasonable cost. Customers shouldn't have to buy a new piece of equipment that could potentially have to same problem in the future. There is also a lesson for these companies design teams about future proofing the software/hardware. Surely the answer is to design a consule that allows you to swap out old tablets for newer models (irrespective of the operating system) at the click of a usb c plug.

Well I purchase an Ipad so I could get the Google Maps feature however the Bluetooth doesn't work. It seems I have thrown a lot of money away. I called and emailed yesterday and still no response. What amazes me is they are still selling the features that don't work. Peloton is selling services we can still use our bikes with they are giving 2 months free. It is worth a try because Ifit and Proform don't care! Did anyone else purchase this 3 year service agreement? What is it good for when they don't care.

I just bought my treadmill and the maps screen inside ifit cardio gets blank. No map, no satelite, no street view, just the regualr info about speed and inclination. Also I tried to watch with the live button on my pad but the live button doesn’t appear.

Well i am using a tablet with iFit on the web. and as of yesterday 04/25/19 I am no longer getting Google street view. I am getting the following error: This site can't download google maps correctly. Do you own this website. When I researched the error it seems that it is related to a missing google API Key. There maybe an issue with iFit not paying google for the key.

Live workout worked for me yesterday with the exception that the map and satellite views were not available. Others also had this problem so it lies in the iFit software.

Hello everyone.. so I made the mistake to allow my C 12.9 elliptical to upgrade to the latest sw 2.18.8 but it broke my machine.. now it’s in a loop of failed upgrade with error message “workout not found” while half way through upgrade. Has anyone found a way to download previous versions of the iFit sw (apk) ? Now all I have is a very heavy and expensive paper weight. 🙁

Yes, i have tried all solutions given on the website. stop the ifit app, uninstall.. then later download the new app by opening the browser and typing ifit.io/2188a problem is halfway through the install it gives error "workout not found". then tried second option: ifit.io/fix ... different files are downloaded but at the end is same result.. at step 21 of the install, it gives error: workout not found. even spoke to tech support.. i was told the engineers were working on it. and now i'm still sitting on a very expensive paper weight. Thanks in advance for any help. ----Edit: just realized, the app installs the problem is downloading the workouts is what fails.. it fails at workout 21. maybe the Engineers could look in to this..

Eleazar Minier you need to call or chat with the ifit support. I have the same machine you do and they said they will have to send me a new SD card to fix the problem. Something about bringing it up to date.

Susan Ellison, thank you for sharing your experience. Question, was there a charge associated with they sending you an SD CARD ? I ask because I see no reason to get SW sent in the mail. Clearly they could just give you a download link and you could download the software manually without incurring in any charges.

Interesting thread. I have the same problem. On a proform treadmill. There is no reason the operating system can't be updated. How often does your phone update? This one has automatically updated the OS twice.

IFit had an overnight update and it crashed my system on my Nordic Track x11i. It was working fine until the update. They sent me an SD card to update my machine and that did not work. Now they have sent me a new console with no instructions on how to replace it. I paid for a warranty which they told me it doesn’t cover the technician to cone out. I called again and they said my warranty did cover someone to come out. It’s taken several hours of phone calls and my machine has been down for almost a month. I sure hope they can fix it. All was working fine until the software update. I will post an update after the console is installed. Very frustrating!. .

Hello, Ifit. My treadmill stopped 3 days ago, now 4 days July 1st. from downloading any Maps into my queue. I have rebooted, unplugged every device possible but still no luck, 8 plus years with IFit so I know the routine. I have wifi at the machine, I can login just fine but no Maps download now. I don't have any problems with connecting to servers just no Maps. I have not had an update install recently either it just stopped . I have photos of the Treadmill screens but YOUR support site won't allow me to send them to Support. Contact me , I emailed support but it only takes 140 letters before you have to email it off.

The usual problem is that one of the scheduled workouts is incompatible with your machine - try deleting them and reloading.

What is your facebook page? I have left several messages on various iFit Fb pages and no responses. My problem is that Satellite view stopped working the end of April. All other functionality is working without issue. I've been using the same setup since Dec 2011 and have worked through all the iFit growing pains to day.s

My maps on my second device don't work any more. Street view does, but no satellite mapping on any of my devices, the screen just goes blank. Really frustrating as it is a massive part of my enjoyment on the treadmill.

Yup, that functionality has been gone for over 5 months without so much as an acknowledgement from the iFit team, much less a fix. I've given up. I'm just waiting for my treadmill to breakdown so I can get something not connected to this company that completely abandons it's customers.

@Randy Penn, @Bruce Walker, @Mark Seefried, @Richard Osborn - I first contacted iFit support regarding the Map View failure on the iFit Live web page on Thursday, 09/06/2019. I also told them I would use my IT background to provide further troubleshooting information as time allowed. Just last night, 09/28/2019, I sent iFit support a follow up email with an attached document that included the following items, along with numerous screen shots: historical background regarding the purchase of my treadmill; my iFit membership and my two encounters with Map View issues (first on my treadmill console, and now on the iFit Live page); detailed instructions that explain how to re-create the issue; the specific technical error that is generated when a user attempts to launch Map View; the specific lines of HTML and JavaScript source code that are being called when the technical error occurs; the specific values that are being processed by the functions that are active when the technical error occurs; and a complete list of corresponding console log entries. I asked that this information be forwarded to the IT team at iFit, and that this matter be given the high level of attention and priority that it deserves.

Today I run the Berlin Marathon and I remembered some things of the route because of my iFit training, but it would have helped me a lot to have had the Map View. It was a huge disappointment during my training.

The loss of the map view was a result of Google changing the billing structure for use of their maps. As there was no contractual obligation for iFit to provide this, they simply pulled the plug.

Then how about removing that page from the website? As it is, if you scroll to that view, it crashes the website. It just makes the whole experience janky.

It also removes the one feature that I most enjoyed on the treadmill. Surely iFit should be looking to ways to resolve the issue, even if it meant using different maps. Do the satellite maps work on any of the newer machines or is it fine for all users?

@Don Geenen I appreciate your efforts. Please let us know if they bear fruit. Like @Richard Osborne the map feature that showed where I “am” on my map based workout was (combined with Street View) the feature I liked most about my treadmill. I think the lack of that functionality is a big part of the reason I have barely touched my treadmill for three months.

I cannot believe this is not sorted out IFIT SHOULD BE ASHAMED I have just renewed my membership, the map tracking is a key functionality I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT A COMPANY THAT TAKES OVER £120 PER YEAR AS SUBSCRIPTIONS FROM ALL OF US HAS NOT SORTED THIS OUT. Maybe we should all cancel our subscriptions, they will either go out of business or sort it out ASAP

I got a 1 year membership for ifit with a treadmill I just received. I expected workout coaches like Peloton and a variety of workouts from walking to HIT training. My shock is the interface is so poor figuring this out for the two iFit capable machines is a lost cause. You can draw a map but wont see the scenery because there is no google video for the path. The suggested video I have seen plays like a slide show. Really? No tween frames that adjust while your moving. No selection for music while your playing video. Even audio from the area would be good. Kind of disappointing. So many advancements in all this stuff and I feel like iFit just got a google map deal and left everything alone.

My proform 1450 was working great until today. Now having issues downloading my video workouts. The app for the phone is a joke, will not let me use the app unless I can connect to my treadmill via bluetooth; but bluetooth is permanently disabled on my treadmill. The video content is great, but if I cant manage it or move it to my treadmill from my phone due to the fact that the treadmill wont download it over wifi, I should probably just buy a peleton.

My warranty replaced my broke treadmill for a new Nordictrack X9i (2017 model; NETL19718.1.) and the location in the map shows well. But it is not compatible with ifit.com/live, so I can't use my tablet as Street View while my console screen shows me my location in the map. Please, add this feature..

Hello Leslie, I also agree with you, the application does not meet expectations and therefore the equipment does not. Until now I did not know this communication channel. I want to say here the unstable and continuous failures of the app. For example, it has been months since my activity files have doubled and tripled multiple times, messing up my activity history. What worries me is that the last official reply from iFIT to all of us on this channel was 9 months ago ?? I'm wrong??

I have installed iFit bluetooth tablet for the first time today, have purchased a license, and only "manual training" works. Always always always "iFit has stoped". I use samsumg tablet and nordictrack C7.5 elliptical. Can somebody help me?

My NordicTrack 10.9 Elliptical was working fine yesterday. Turned it on today and the display constantly shows the Device Options dialog. There's no way to navigate to the main iFit page. Was there a recent iFit release? Are other people experiencing the same issue? None of the buttons are functional either.

I will echo several recent comments that the TDF 5.0 street view has stopped working. Recently the hardware version updated on my TDF so maybe that is the problem? I will also echo others that paying $100+ membership should have some TLC coming from the service provider. The lack of response by iFit to acknowledge these issues, respond to them, and get them fixed is not a good business model to be followed.

Excuse me, I had accidentally deleted my last message: Every day my PROFORM Tour de France 5 (TDF 5) model # PFEVEX71916 1 WORKS WORSE Manual or Google maps-based workouts don't upload well. get corrupted and upload fractional or incomplete. Not only that, but also once uploaded, the files do it in duplicate, triplicate, quadruplicate, nx. Please iFIT do something now, develop a solution upload a new version. It was only 1 year ago that I bought my machine and it cannot be that the answer from iFIT is that Google has stopped implementing android 2.21 remind you that on the stickers of my bike it is written Powered by Google maps BIKE ANYWHERE Make this sentence not just an advertisement and please honor your commitment to your customers.

I purchased my bike they offered me nothing! However for 12.99 a month you can join Peloton classes and adjust your levels. I know it is a shame but they screwed us. Why pay for ifit when it doesn't work? Peloton offers other classes as well.

Juan, I'll be moving to the Kickr Bike soon, just researched it, but I'm not pleased with ProForm about this is issue. The only reason I bought it was use street view with my own developed courses. So, $2k wasted, but I believe Wahoo has something better going at the moment with the ability to connect to not just zwift, but other platforms as well. Good luck.

I just received my TDF bike less than a week ago. I created a 10 mile Street View course. Yesterday it worked fine -- for 4 miles, at which point it froze. I assumed it was a one time glitch. I kept riding, and after another 4 miles Street View magically started working again. This morning, after unplugging yesterday, it did the exact same thing on a different 10 mile ride. Worked fine for 4 miles, froze, then resumed at 8 miles. Anyone else having this 4-mile-freeze issue?

Todd, my last month has been painful with street view course freezing at 0.6 mille on almost every ride. This happened after the last firmware update installed a month or so ago. before that, didn't really have an issue with street view freezing. My last couple rides this past week though, i was able to get about 6 miles into my 10 miles when it started freezing, unfreezing, freezing again for the remaining 4 mies. very frustrating. Too bad iFit team didn't reach out to address this issue that apparently is a result of the latest firmware update. As noted in my last post, I'm switching to Wahool trainer later this year to get into Zwift and Rouvy. I like the trainer, but the street viewing was why I purchased it in 2017. Too bad, i would have sold you mine for much less than you paid Proform.

I have a proform treadmill. Since the last update it has been stuck on the same daily workout. I seem to me able to manually change it but that is a nuisance.

I also have problems with my Nordictrack X9i since the last updates because the iFit app usually closes itself after around 20 minutes. At least I can open it again and the street view resumes as nothing had happened.

I have a brand new x11i. Ifit started the upgrades and failed then the fans started blowing like crazy. Eventually an error came up..ifit system admin recovery... unable to automatically recover device firmware..please enter a valid software number or valid url....flash. what is that software number? I agree with everyone, if you have an older Treadmill or equipment like mine 2012 and have been using the maps that you can create and share with others they should replace the console . Lots of us have used the maps over the years and it was the primary reason we purchased it , it’s what made them stand out. Do not pass us by, we were there when you had tons of software issues, consoles crashed and had to be replaced but we still supported your ideas . We can’t all go out and purchase new equipment every time there is another update . Thanks in advance for my replacement console or treadmill. 😊

I don't know for sure but I was told a couple of years ago that I could not. My treadmill was purchased late 2011 I believe, the maps are still working fine for me but so many other options are not available to me now.( not that I need them ). Wouldn't it be smart for a Company to build a Treadmill,Bike,Elliptical, etc with interchangeable consoles that just pop into place with a few screws so it wouldn't be obsolete and so hard for them to keep creating software for numerous pieces of equipment with so many versions of software. I don't think you can buy a console upgrade maybe iFit will read this and comment.

I also would be willing to pay for a consol upgrade. I asked customer service today if this was possible but apparently its not. I am reluctant to upgrade my entire machine for an interface upgrade!

Like others, Street view quit updating about 7 months ago (ProForm TdF 4). I reverted to 2.17.6 and was happy as a clam. Now 2.17.6 NO LONGER recognizes that I DO have scheduled rides. It will update workouts. so it DOES recognize my ifit account. What the heck did ifit break. Why is there NO RESPONSE from the vendor about recognizing the problem or fixing it. I am fine being stuck on an older version of the ifit app if it will recognized scheduled or mapped rides (Android is 2.2 on a 2014 device). Why the heck should I pay the continued fee (even if discounted) if ifit will not support their uses base???

Ed T: Thanks for the suggestion. I downloaded 2.18.17 and it does not crash my ifit and recognizes scheduled rides. Street view updates are still sporadic but at least they do display.

Hello all: I have been dealing with IFit technical support for a month now. I have a 2016 NordicTrack Grand Tour Pro bike and I started to experience trouble with the bike boot-up freezing, the Workout of the Day not loading and Street View freezing. I went back to 2.18.17 but had to continually clear the data cache before shutdown (advice from tech support). The boot-up went better, but the other issues still continued. For some reason, the Workouts of the Day worked better (Street View freezing), than Library or User created rides. They asked me to try 2.18.23 (which says it fixes these issues), but they still continue for me. Now they are saying my console is defective and I have to buy a new one. They told me a week ago that they were still rolling out upgrades for my type of machine, so I am checking if anyone out there with a 4 year old bike has an upgrade that has actually fixed these issues. BTW: Shout-out to Ed T for the suggestion to a use a tablet logged on to my dashboard via a web browser and click on the Live View option. The Street View works perfectly for all rides, AND the old Google Map view is BACK!!! Hope to hear from someone who has a 4 yr or older bike....

Hi, Latest version of the app won't recognize that the tablet is in landscape mode. It works properly once you start the workout, but it means that you have to flip the tablet to a portrait position to be able to select your workout options. Also - there really should be a resistance offset. I love that the trainer can set the resistance, but it would be nice to allow each user to have a personal offset value to either increase or decrease the resistance based on their personal fitness level - but still have it follow when the trainer increases or decreases.
