Amaretto Hot Chocolate

I love the flavor of amaretto—especially when it’s paired with chocolate. But alcohol is full of empty calories, and at 7 calories per gram, I skip it and save on the calories. So in this hot chocolate, we skipped the actual amaretto and added almond extract instead to get a similar flavor with less calories. This hot chocolate is simple, but oh, so yummy! Feel free to change the chocolate to dark, if you prefer.

          Directions
          1. Heat the milk in a small pot over medium heat.
          2. Add in chocolate and almond extract and stir until chocolate is melted and milk is warmed to your desired temperature.
          3. If you’d like, you can also simply heat the milk in the microwave for about 1 minute, add the remaining ingredients, then stir until the chocolate is melted.
          4. Enjoy!
