Google makes their first stop on their Code the Road tour to visit Utah based company, iFit®. Google’s Code the Road Tour is a tour around the U.S. visiting top companies using Google Maps.
To celebrate, participants ran in a 5K treadmill race through the Streets of Paris. As google street view appeared on their treadmill, the incline and decline automatically adjusted to match the outdoor terrain using terrain-matching technology. iFit uses Google Maps APIs for Street View Images and elevation data to provide this technology on iFit-ready fitness equipment.
We started by sending 1 runner to Paris to run a 5K. She tacked the 5K route on her iFit device. She then flew in on a helicopter, synced her route on her iFit-ready treadmill, shared it with 25 friends and the race began.
