Celebrate our gorgeous world with iFit
No matter if I’m hiking mountains in Washington, or skiing the slopes in Utah, the beauty of our planet never ceases to amaze me. From all my travels and the different places I’ve lived, I’ve come to realize that the world we reside in is truly beautiful. Through my job at iFit, I have the incredible opportunity to create running and cycling routes all over the world, and that has only furthered my belief in how incredibly amazing our planet is. I get to explore every corner and bring those beautiful locations to you.
While Earth Day is partially about enjoying the beauty of our world, its main focus is to remind us about preserving it. Cutting down on waste, reusing, recycling, and just living a more sustainable life. So, here are a few ways to help preserve our planet, live a less wasteful lifestyle, and also make yourself a little healthier.
1. Eat local
Locally grown products eliminate a lot of transportation, storage, and packaging. Try checking out your local farmers’ markets.
2. Eat whole foods
Whole foods are not just better for you, but they’re better for the environment too. Again, less packaging, less processed, and less chemical additives with whole foods.
3. Reduce commuting emissions
Whether it be carpooling, public transportation, biking, or walking to work (I would especially promote the latter two), try reducing your emissions in one way or another, even if it’s just one or two days per week.
4. Carry around a reusable water bottle
You’ll not only hydrate better when you always have water handy, but you can reduce the waste of disposable bottles and cups.
5. Always find a recycling bin
When it comes to throwing products away, make a conscious effort to recycle anything that can be recycled. And make an effort to find a recycling bin wherever you are!
This Earth Day, work on not only your health, but our planet’s too. Try out iFit’s Planet Earth workout program, and get a sneak peek of some of our favorite workouts from the program below.
