
Sloppy Janes
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 (6-ounce) can tomato paste
- 1 (8-ounce) can unsalted tomato sauce
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 medium green pepper, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon mustard powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon low sodium soy sauce (gluten-free if needed)
- 2 tablespoons water
Directions
- In a large skillet, brown the turkey.
- Add the onions and pepper and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
- Transfer the turkey mixture to a slow cooker and add in the additional ingredients.
- Simmer for 10-15 minutes.
- Serve on buns, pitas, or lettuce wraps!
