Meet iFit Trainer Zac Marion!

Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, Zac describes his past self as an average Joe. After struggling with obesity, he went on a quest to feel better and get healthier. On his health journey, Zac discovered the benefits of endurance training. One year and 100 pounds later, he fell in love with endurance sports and changed his career path. He graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science, then a doctorate degree in physical therapy. As an athlete, coach, and physical therapist, he hopes he can inspire others to also improve their quality of life. In his spare time, he loves to cook and spend time with his family.

Zac was nice enough to answer a few fun questions for us, in hopes that you can get to know him a little better!

If you had to eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Avocados! I love avocados plain or with just about anything. They are super healthy and crazy delicious, but if we’re talking about guilty pleasures, I’m all about cinnamon rolls. I don’t think I’d ever get sick of eating those!

What advice would you give to beginner runners?

The best advice I could give is to stay consistent. Inconsistency breaks habits and slows down the adaptation process, making your workouts less effective. Even if you only do a quick workout or part of a workout, a little something is better than nothing!

If you could time travel, what time period would you visit?

I’ve actually thought about this a lot on my runs! While I’m very interested in the Renaissance Era, I’d most like to visit the moon-landing era in the 1960s. The entire country was united with one singular goal and amazing things happened because of it. And there was so much growth and change as a society at that time!
