Boston Marathon® Athlete: Wen Hsu

READ TIME:1 min.

As we gear up for the excitement of the Boston Marathon®, we’re highlighting each of the athletes our team chose to head to Beantown! We received so many heartfelt stories from applicants, and it was excruciatingly difficult to only pick 13. Each story truly inspired us, and we think they’ll inspire you too! While we’re still weeks out from the race, we wanted to share each person’s story before the big day.

After trying to qualify for the Boston Marathon® for the last decade, iFIT member Wen Hsu finally has the opportunity to run this amazing race!

Wen’s story

I am an ED doctor who has been running for the last 10 years, trying to qualify for the Boston Marathon®. Finally in 2019, I ran the race of a lifetime in Phoenix with a finishing time of 3:14 to qualify for Boston. Unfortunately, COVID-19 halted that opportunity, and I was only able to run the virtual race. This year, I tried to qualify for the 2021 Boston Marathon® on my own. Although I was five minutes under the qualifying standard, I was rejected due to it being a smaller race.
