Strength Training for Beginners

Strength training is an integral part of any fitness routine. A strong body can help you as you progress on your fitness journey and benefit you in your everyday life. If you’re new to strength training or want to understand more about its benefits, this post is for you!

Why strength training?

Exercising and moving your body each day is always a great idea. In fact, participating in regular physical activity is one of the most important things you can do for your health. That includes both cardio and strength training to help build your muscles and endurance. According to the Mayo Clinic, the potential benefits of strength training include:

Strength training equipment

Before you begin your strength training journey, investing in equipment and building your home gym is a great first step. You can start with some simple equipment to get started, including:

  • Loop bands and/or resistance bands
  • Kettlebells
  • Free weights or a dumbbell set
  • Yoga mat
