It’s time to make your runs feel less like a task and more like an experience. Set against the dramatic backdrop of Northern California’s Coastline, the California Coast Light Running Series with iFIT Trainer Tommy Rivs is designed for runners of all skill levels looking for a new way to train.

This 10-part running series blends purposeful training with awe-inspiring scenery, from the towering redwoods in Muir Woods to the windswept cliffs of Bodega Bay. Each workout will help you move your body while grounding your mind and reconnecting you with why you run.

This series serves as a natural next step for runners who completed Tommy’s Joy of Running and Road to Recovery Series, continuing the thoughtful progressions those series introduced. It’s fully approachable if you’re joining Tommy for the first time, too. His coaching philosophy centers on meeting you where you are, whether that means easing back into fitness, rebuilding consistency, or gradually increasing endurance.

How the series works

You’ll alternate between two intentional formats: foundation sessions and growth sessions. Foundation workouts feature two-minute, repeatable intervals to help you dial in on pacing, form, and breathing. Growth workouts will extend your effort with sustained running segments ranging from six to eight minutes to safely challenge your stamina. This structured progression will allow you to steadily improve without feeling overwhelmed.
